Mrs. Laurie Prewitt comes to us with over 34 years of experience in Early Childhood creative programming. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education & Early Childhood, and a Masters degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood, & Administration. Mrs. Prewitt loves sharing Jesus with the children and their families, and believes every child is made on purpose, full of potential, deeply loved by God and our school, and that it’s the teachers role to help them become everything that the Father created them to be ~ Colossians 3:12. Mrs. Prewitt and her husband, retired Pastor Jeff Prewitt, are parents to three grown children and grandparents to six precious grandchildren.
Mrs. Emily Urban is a passionate Christian Early Childhood teacher with 21 years of experience helping kids develop in every way— socially, physically, emotionally, cognitively and spiritually – and most especially in their walk with Jesus. She loves partnering with parents and weaving faith into everyday learning to build a strong, Biblical foundation. Mrs. Urban’s credibility is endorsed by the hundreds of children she has served, as well as her robust educational credentialing, holding a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Minor in Youth Ministry, and a Commission as a Minister of Religion. She and her husband Chad are parents to three wonderful children.
Mrs. Jen Charles, degreed in Youth & Lay Ministry and Theology from Concordia University, carries with her 10 years as a Director of Youth & Family Ministries and another 12 years of experience in child care of all ages. She finds great joy in working together with parents to nurture and guide children, treating them with the same care and attention. She is a mother to four boys that are very active in sports, and her husband, Faulkner, enjoys coaching some of their teams!
Mrs. Marcie Kramer earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, from UW – Stevens Point and has 26 years of teaching experience, all of it at the 1st grade level, in a Christian school. She loves encouraging children to discover themselves as the learners that God has created them to be and believes that every child deserves to be met where they are at. Mrs. Kramer’s greatest joy is to share Jesus with her students as well as continue to grow in Him with them as a classroom family. She and her husband Kurt are blessed with one daughter.
Mrs. Sarah Vogel comes to the Academy with 15 years of teaching experience, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood from Concordia University with a Minor in Youth Ministry. Inspired by academic challenges as a child, Mrs. Vogel pursued a teaching career and believes God has given her compassion to support students of all learning abilities—especially those who find school difficult. Mrs. Vogel loves Jesus, and His children! Being trusted with someone’s child each day is a privilege she is honored by and holds close to her heart. She shares one adored son with her husband Ken.
Mrs. Brittany Jonas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from UW-Oshkosh and brings10 years of teaching experience to NSCA, 3 of which have been in Christian education. She loves building relationships with her students and challenging them to use all their God-given skills and talents. Her classroom blends creativity with accountability, always cheering on those lightbulb moments when learning clicks. Her husband, Brad, shares in her joy of raising their two children together.
Mr. Jeremy Hanson holds a Bachelor’s of Science in History from UW-Oshkosh and brings four years of teaching experience to NSCA. Shaped by a deep commitment to Christian education, he is passionate about helping students build a personal relationship with Jesus while equipping them to think critically, understand logic, and confidently defend their faith. Being an avid outdoorsman keeps him and his wife Leah active, along with their two sons.
Mrs. Kami Kersten, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a Master’s in Teaching and Learning, and brings 10 years of teaching experience in Christian education. Driven by a deep belief that every student is gifted by God, her mission is to help them discover those gifts, believe in their ability to learn, fulfill their highest potential and discover their purpose. She along with her husband, Paul, are the proud parents of two daughters.
Mrs. Amber Creamer has 15 years of experience supporting students as a tutor with the Barton Reading and Spelling System. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Math minor from UW-Oshkosh. She loves cultivating meaningful connections with her students and is energized by building their confidence through personalized strategies that honor how each child is uniquely designed by God. Her home is filled with laughter by her two daughters that she shares with her husband, Aaron.
Mrs. Liz Bessett is a seasoned Barton Reading and Spelling System Tutor with 10 years of experience and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from St. Norbert College. She believes reading is a foundational life skill and is deeply committed to helping dyslexic students become more confident readers and spellers and recognize how God has uniquely crafted and gifted them. Her beautiful family consists of her husband Ryan, two sons and one daughter.
